Hi all, Dave here. I wanted to share a thought and concern I have for myself and anyone else auditioning for the high school play this year at CLC. Mrs. Mays has said that due to the amount of roles that are in the play this year, it is not a given that anyone with a mediocre voice or small amount of acting talent will make it in; in contrast to previous years where they did. This being so, it is possible and probable that someone we know, perhaps very well, will get in and we won't. I am concerned cause i know this can cause hard feelings between friends. I have sadly expirienced this. I was once in a play, and the role I wanted was given to another actor. I was upset, not only at losing the part, but because (sadly) I felt I was a better choice. It was hard for me to be nice to this person for a while. I know that, without God's help, I will be subject to this type of pride when the cast list comes out for the play this year. Any prayer any of you could raise for me would be GREATLY appreciated. That's all for now! Thanks for being friends who will listen and support.
You all rock,
~Dave

David, this is a great post! I've heard rumors that 1 out of 2 of the 9th graders will not get in pp. Chances are some of our friends will get in even if we don't make it. I think we sould all trust in God for the outcome. He is the one who is chosing the cast list, not Mrs. Mays.

Wow, this post came at the best time!! I feel like I'm most likely not going to make it (b.c of limited amount of roles and the fact that im a fresmen!) and already starting a grudge :-S but... this really helps me! Thanks so much! God is in control!!
yeah i meant to put "I need to remember that God had his reasons for the cast he chose.
I am prayin! One more year and i can get in. grr, they ought ta let 8th graders in!
It's not just you Freshies... the "old" high-schoolers feel it as well.
As always, God is in control. If you (or I) don't get in, and your best friend whose "not as good" does, don't let that make trouble. Disappointment is OK, but don't let disappointment turn to bitterness. He reigns, and He determined in eternity past whether or not you'd get into Progress. And, whichever path He leads you down, it's for your good.
10-4.
Right-O liz!
That's so great Dave! We just have to remember that God is always in control of everything :D
Praying,
~Kylie
Excellent post David...
Thanks for opening up like this and being humble enough to share with us...
OK, Wanderer... really, stop. Please. I don't wanna have to do anything drastic here... O.o
Thanks Dave for this post. It is really helpful, and a nice reminder. Even though it doesn't really apply to me anyway for the play, it does apply in so many other areas.
